Submitted by Linda…After our bible study last Friday we invited the students over to Hackamore (the place Steve and Eunice live) and Black Oak (where the brothers live) for a night of intense studying. When everyone arrived, the placed was filled with students studying for their finals. In the table closer to the kitchen, our own resident Chem Prof, actually, Greg Davis, was holding a chem study session and he even had a white board to practice nomenclature structures and etc. with the students. Things were so interesting that even Hannah sat down and tried to study chem along with the students. Then in the kitchen we were cooking up batches of freshly baked cookies to give the students a nice treat while they studied while making sure there was enough hot water for students to make hot chocolate. Then in our living room tables we set up tables so students could study by their subjects. Our students studying for math lucked out by having their own math phD tutor them. One of our grad students decided to swing by and help the students even though he had his own studies to do. I’m really thankful for Hackamore and for it’s large living room where we can invite students over to study and have fellowship in the midst of their finals. As of late Hackamore has become something like BT and NL where people come over to hang out and study. It’s amazing that after only one quarter we have students who feel comfortable enough to come hang out at Hackamore and just experience fellowship. We’ve been holding study sessions on the weekends and during the week and it’s so great to see so many students take come into our homes and apartments. I hope that times like these will deepen our relationship with the students and bring them closer to Christ.
