I’m not crazy

Submitted by Angela…   Gracepoint Fellowship’s Worldview Camp 2008 last year was eye-opening to say the least.  My take-away point is that I’m not crazy.  I see how obvious it is now: it takes more faith to be a skeptic than it does to believe in our God.  It’s VERY liberating.  My view has changed in that I used to think the world had the upper hand.  But now I see I AM on the winning team.

I [used to] fear that scene when a person coming closer to God is suddenly halted because I couldn’t answer one of those stumper questions.  So I would shy away from truly deep conversations to avoid the chance that I would represent an indefensible faith.  But now I think I can be bolder, because I can stand by Truth and not be discouraged by relativistic claims.

A concrete way to put this boldness into action is not just to be wiling to talk about this when asked, but to proactively start this discussion, unpacking how someone else sees the world and why.  I want to be the one asking the probing questions now, and allow others to see that the contemporary worldview can be stumped too.

For the first time, I’ve thought seriously about the “bigger issues”, like bioethics and pop culture, and I see that the truths of Christianity have very public implications I can’t ignore.  It’s helped me consolidate the tenets of Christianity into a coherent consistent worldview.  I’m excited to hear from Sean McDowell this year.
